“CPR is an extremely important skill to learn however through studies it has been found that it is a skill that people are reluctant to learn and for those who do know it, are reluctant to perform for fear of missing a step.  Hands only CPR is a public awareness campaign that was established to encourage more people to act when they encounter a cardiac arrest.  It is a great starting point to get more people to learn CPR and has been shown to save lives.  Chest compressions are good for the first few minutes someone is in cardiac arrest as is pushes remaining oxygen through the body to keep vital organs alive until EMS arrives to take over.  70% of all out of hospital cardiac arrest happen at home which means the chances of you using the skill will be on someone you care about.  With the simple steps of “Hands Only” CPR it is more likely that someone will jump into action and help save a life.”
